Feel It Framework at Home
Hello and welcomeÂ
You are probably here because your child’s school follows the Feel It Framework.
This page introduces the framework and the characters your child may be meeting at school, so you can explore them together at home.
You don’t need to learn everything at once. Start with a little curiosity, a conversation or a character your child recognises.
What is the Feel It Framework?
The Feel It Framework is a gentle approach to exploring feelings, noticing our bodies’ signals and discovering what might support us.
It uses a colourful triangle with six connected layers. These offer ways to explore big feelings, calming tools, understanding, expression, imagination and connection with ourselves.
The triangle helps us pause and ask:
- What am I noticing in my body?
- How am I feeling?
- What might I need?
- Who or what could help me?
We can move up, down and between the layers. We don’t have to follow them in order, and reaching the top is not a goal.
Please do not use the triangle as a behaviour or reward chart.
It is for noticing where we are and what we might need. Every feeling is welcome, and no layer makes a child “good” or “bad”.
We can welcome feelings while helping children find safe ways to express them. Sometimes what they need most is an adult beside them, offering time, reassurance and support.

Meet the Feel It FriendsÂ
For children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1), we explore the framework through the Feel It Friends.
They live in the Mini Magical Minds World - a colourful story world with a Rainbow Tree, a quiet forest, a meadow and other places to explore.
Each friend also has an important job on the triangle:
- Marcus Meerkat helps us notice big feelings and our bodies’ signals.
- Eddie Elephant helps us remember calming tools and discover what feels helpful.
- Olivia Owl helps us explore feelings and make thoughtful choices.
- Delia Dolphin helps us use our voice and speak kindly to ourselves.
- Belle Bunny helps us explore imagination, creativity and possibilities.
- Feel It Fiona reminds us that our feelings matter and that we still deserve kindness and care, however we feel.Â
The characters give children familiar ways to talk about experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.

You could explore the picture together and ask:
“Which friend have you met at school?”
“Where would you like to visit?”
There is no need to turn it into a lesson. Let your child look, wonder and share as much - or as little - as they wish.
