Lesson 7 - Creativity and Imagination with Belle Bunny

Lesson 7: Creativity and Imagination with Belle Bunny

💛 Introduction

This gentle lesson introduces children to Belle Bunny, who helps us use our imagination to explore ideas, solve problems and find new ways to feel safe and calm.

Children learn that their imagination is powerful, and that they can create their own calming spaces, ideas, and solutions.

This is not about getting things right.

It is about exploring, creating and expressing freely.

🎯 Learning Focus

  • Children use imagination to explore feelings and ideas

  • Children begin to create their own calming strategies

  • Children build confidence in their own ideas

  • Children understand there are many possible ways to feel better

🌿 What You’ll Need

  • Belle Bunny character card (optional)

  • Paper, colouring materials, or creative resources

  • Calm, comfortable space

🧠 Lesson Overview

Begin by introducing Belle Bunny as the character who helps us imagine and create.

Explain that:

  • Our imagination can help us feel calm and safe

  • We can imagine places, ideas, or solutions

  • Everyone’s ideas are different

  • There is no right or wrong way to imagine

Let children know that their ideas matter and are important.

🐰 Activity - The Idea Garden

Gather children together and invite them to imagine a calm or happy place.

Use simple language such as:

"Belle Bunny helps us grow ideas, like a little garden in our mind…"

Invite children to:

  • Imagine a calm, happy, or safe place

  • Draw or create their idea

  • Share their idea (if they would like to)

You can guide gently:

"What can you see there?"

"What makes it feel calm or happy?"

You can model examples:

"I imagine a quiet garden with soft grass and sunshine."

💬 Reflection

Ask gentle questions such as:

  • What did you imagine?

  • How did it feel?

  • Could you visit that place again in your mind?

Reassure children that their imagination is something they can always return to.

🌈 Bringing It Into the Day

You can revisit imagination throughout the day by saying:

  • "Can you imagine a calm place?"

  • "What could help you right now?"

  • "Let’s think of a new idea together"

This helps children build creativity as a tool for emotional support.

🌿 Gentle Reminder

This is not about directing children’s ideas.

It is about giving them space to explore, create, and trust their own imagination.
