Mini Magical Monday is a short, gentle practice to help children settle into the week, reconnect with themselves and feel ready to begin.

It creates a calm moment to pause, notice how they feel and gently set the tone for the days ahead.

  • Children begin the week feeling calm and settled

  • Children develop awareness of their body, feelings and thoughts

  • Children feel safe, grounded and ready to learn

  • Children build a consistent emotional check-in routine


🌱 What You’ll Need

  • Calm, comfortable space

  • Optional: Feel It Triangle visual

  • Optional: soft music or calm audio


🧠 Lesson Overview

Explain that Mondays can feel different for everyone.

Some children may feel:

  • Happy

  • Tired

  • Excited

  • Worried

Let children know:

👉 All feelings are welcome.

This is a time to pause, notice and gently begin again.


🐾 Activity: Feel It Monday Check-In

1. Settle & Breathe

Invite children to sit comfortably.

"Let’s take a slow breath in… and out…"

Repeat a few times.

2. Body Check

"Notice your body…

Does it feel calm, wiggly, tight or relaxed?"

3. Feelings Check

"Notice how you feel inside…

happy, tired, excited, worried… or something else."

(No pressure to share)

4. Thought Check

"Is your mind busy or calm today?"

5. Gentle Intention

"Think of one small thing that might help you today."

Examples:

  • Taking a breath

  • Asking for help

  • Being kind to yourself


💬 Optional Sharing

Invite children to share if they would like:

"How are you feeling today?"

"What might help you today?"


🌈 Bringing It Into the Day

Use simple reminders:

"Where are you in the triangle right now?"

"What might help your body or your feelings?"

This helps children carry their awareness throughout the day.
