Feel It Friday - Reflect, Let Go & Reset
💛 Introduction
Feel It Friday is a gentle end-of-week practice that helps children pause, reflect on their experiences, and let go of anything they no longer need to carry.
It creates a calm, supportive space for children to notice their feelings, celebrate small moments, and move forward feeling lighter.
This is not about changing how children feel.
It is about helping them process, release, and feel safe.
🎯 Learning Focus
Children begin to:
-
reflect on their week in a gentle, supported way
-
recognise both positive and tricky moments
-
understand that feelings can be noticed and released
-
build emotional awareness and resilience
-
develop a sense of calm and closure
⏱️ Time
10–15 minutes
🌱 What You’ll Need
-
Calm, comfortable space
-
Optional: Guided Calm (nervous system settling)
-
Optional: soft music or calm audio
🌿 The Feel It Friday Practice
🐾 1. Settle & Breathe
"Sit comfortably…
Take a slow breath in… and out…"
💛 2. Feel It (Notice the Week)
"Think about your week…
-
What felt good?
-
What felt tricky?
-
What made you smile?"
(Pause - no pressure to share)
Optional: "Would anyone like to share one small moment?"
🍃 3. Let Go Moment
"Sometimes we carry feelings we don’t need to hold onto anymore…"
Invite children to:
-
imagine holding a worry or feeling
-
gently release it (blow it away, drop it, or let it float)
You might say: "You can let it go… when you’re ready…"
🌟 4. Positive Hold
"Now think of one small thing you’d like to keep from this week…"
Examples:
-
a happy moment
-
something kind
-
something you’re proud of
🌈 5. Close the Week
"We can let go of what feels heavy…
and gently hold onto what feels good."
Take one final slow breath together.
🫧 Optional Activity
✨ Feel It & Let Go Reflection
Children can:
-
draw one feeling from the week
-
draw or write something they are keeping
-
represent something they are letting go of
🌈 Bringing It Into the Day
You can gently revisit this practice by asking:
"Is there anything you’d like to let go of?"
"What would you like to carry with you today?"

🌿 Gentle Reminder
This is not about fixing behaviour.
It is about helping children understand their feelings, feel safe and learn that they can move through emotions in their own time.
Pairs beautifully with Feel It Monday to create a calm weekly rhythm of reflection and reset.
