Daily Feel It Check-In

Daily Feel It Check-In

💛 Introduction

This gentle daily practice helps children pause, notice how they feel and begin to understand what they might need.

It is a simple way to bring the Feel It Framework into everyday classroom life.

This is not about changing how children feel.

It is about helping them notice, feel safe and build awareness over time.

🎯 Learning Focus

Children begin to:

  • notice how they feel throughout the day

  • recognise where they are in the Feel It Triangle

  • understand that feelings can change

  • begin to think about what might help

  • build self-awareness and emotional regulation

⏱️ Time

2 - 5 minutes

🌿 The Daily Check-In

🐾 1. Pause

"Let’s take a slow breath in… and out…"

💛 2. Feelings Check

"How are you feeling right now?"

(Children can think quietly, point, or share if they wish)

🔺 3. Where am I?

"Where are you in the Feel It Triangle right now?"

(No right or wrong - just noticing)

🌱 4. What might help?

"What might help your body or your feelings?"

You might offer gentle ideas:

  • a breath

  • a stretch

  • a quiet moment

  • talking to someone

🌟 5. Move Forward

"You can carry that with you into your day."

🫧 Optional: Daily Bubble

Children can:

  • draw their feeling

  • choose a colour

  • write a word

  • show what might help

This can be kept as a personal reflection or added to a class display.

🌈 Bringing It Into the Day

You can revisit the Feel It Triangle at any time by asking:

"Where are you right now?"

"What might help?"

This helps children build a gentle habit of noticing and responding to their feelings.

🌿 Gentle Reminder

This is not about fixing behaviour.

It is about helping children understand themselves, feel safe and know that all feelings are welcome.
