🌈 'After a Big Dream' - Calm Moment

A gentle step-by-step Calm Moment to help your head and heart feel safe again.

 

Sometimes our dreams feel big, wobbly, or confusing.

When that happens, we can help our head and heart feel safe again.

 

 

🐾 Step 1. Find Your Feet

Sit somewhere cosy.

 

Look around and whisper:

"I can see…"

"I can hear…"

"I can feel…"


This helps your body remember you are safe right now.


 

…pause here for a moment…

 

💛 Step 2. Hand on Heart Breathing

Place your hand gently over your heart.


Breathe in slowly…

and breathe out even slower.

As you breathe out, think:

"My head and heart work together."

 


...take one slow breath before we continue…


 

🌼 Step 3. Name the Feeling

You don’t need to tell the whole story.


Just choose one feeling:

sad

calm

wobbly

quiet


Say:

"A feeling is visiting me."

Feelings visit… and then they move on.



 

Step 4. Close the Dream Book

Imagine your dream is a soft storybook.


Gently close it for now.

You might press your palms together or give yourself a little hug.


Say:

"I can come back to this another time."
